UK Attorney General Lord Richard Hermer and UK PM Sir Keir Starmer go back a long way. They worked together at Doughty Street Chambers, a liberal legal practice in London best known for its focus on human rights law. They met back in 1996 when Hermer joined these chambers. Starmer was a founding member of Doughty Street Chambers. Hermer acted as Starmer’s junior barrister on several “human rights cases” So the connection between these mean is deep and has lasted over several decades. Let’s explore this a bit further as it raises some uncomfortable questions….
