Globalism vs Trump at Davos!
Today sees the force of nature that is President Trump descend upon the snowy Swiss resort at Davos and it promises to be epic! All the globalist spawn will be gathered there and it seems set to be a major confrontation between the current world order and that which Trump seeks to build. Things will change after today.
The Greenland issue has blown up into a major crisis and that which some saw initially as some sort of Trumpian joke is now deadly serious. Trump WANTS full sovereignty over Greenland. He doesn’t want it under some sort of vague NATO authority, he wants it under American authority. He claims that this is for US national security reasons and he is not the first US President to set his eyes on that prize.
Not by a long shot.
Let’s take a few moments to review the history which the media hides from you. I think when you see the full context, Trump demand seems entirely rational. You see the US has always sought to acquire Greenland - Trump is just the first to say it out loud!
In 1867, President Andrew Johnson explored buying Greenland & Iceland (right after Alaska). In WWII – President Roosevelt took over Greenland’s defence while Denmark was occupied. In 1946 President Truman offered $100M in gold to buy it.
During the Cold War both Eisenhower and Kennedy has non stop negotiations for bases, radar, missiles on Greenland. Post–Cold War, Presidents Clinton/Bush/Obama all expanded Arctic security &missile defence. This has been a historic continuum
It was first in 2019 that Donald Trump said publicly what which Presidents had discussed privately for 150+ years. So let’s be clear; The U.S. didn’t just “suddenly” want Greenland. It’s not some random thing. The US has been defending it, negotiating with it, and embedding there since the 1800s.
Denmark has been an absolute irrelevance.
Geo-strategists understand that Greenland = Arctic power, shipping lanes, missiles, minerals. Trump didn’t invent it. He just said the quiet part out loud.
And the Europeans are going to have to accept this. They can posture and preen and express their comradely solidarity with Denmark but in the end, Trump will win and the world will be a much better place for it.
Well said David. The trouble with these posturing parasites who currently make up the PM’s and presidents of these European countries do not even know their history. If they did and they paired that with common sense and logic around the real menace that is China, they would be biting Trumps hand off to take Greenland.
The truth is that the UK is no longer a credible player on the world stage. I could imagine Thatcher having a great relationship with Trump as she did with Reagan. Starmer? A national embarrassment at this level.
