Last week, I wrote an article here on how a “new” social media platform called Bluesky was being heavily promoted as a better alternative to Elon Musk’s X/Twitter. As I said at the time, I believe this was a deep state attempt to punish Musk but it will fail if for no other reason than many of the big US based Advertisers that left X/Twitter have now concluded it is better to be on the right side of Trump/Musk and return.
X’s former top advertisers including Comcast, IBM, Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery, and Lionsgate Entertainment, have all resumed ad spending on the platform this year, albeit at much lower rates than before.
So whilst Bluesky is aimed at delivering a big FU to Musk, those advertisers will secure the financial prosperity of his platform. There is NOTHING organic about Bluesky and there is no reason to be part of it.
Last week, for a laugh, I set up shop on Bluesky. By end of play yesterday I was approaching having 100 followers. And the axe fell, my account was taken down. No explanation, no appeal, just removed.
I see my ban from Bluesky as further evidence that what I said about it was absolutely right - it’s a limited hang out for emotionally stunted leftists who are utter cowards but who want a space where they can all congratulate each other on their stunning bravery!
As a further example of the sort of content that is permitted on Bluesky, let me share this wild example.
So I am not allowed on this new “kinder” platform but death threats against President Trump are deemed ok.
My proudest contribution to Bluesky was when I suggested that if Bluesky had a scent then it would be cat’s urine! That triggered them.
Bluesky is a big tech three agency created and funded online asylum for demented Leftists angry that Donald Trump won the US Presidential election. I believe they will all come crawling back to X but if they don’t, the atmosphere is immediately improved by their absence.
Actually, David, you were banned because you joined Bluesky in bad faith and spent your entire time on the platform abusing and mocking other users. There's a peculiarly nasty, spiteful and vindictive atmosphere that follows you around on any social media network, and any platform that bans you is better for it.
Just another vessel to virtue signal for the left. It was Threads a couple of years ago. I bet you that most of those have come back to X. Whatever, we won't miss them.
