Conservatives vs Labour. Democrats vs Republicans.
It’s a very real choice and no matter how imperfect your side is - you still should rally around them and hope to change them.
I beg to differ. I have come to see all these things as fake demarcations designed to convey the impression of choice where there is only really the Uniparty, only political homogenuity. The decline into hell may be graduated but THAT is the end point with all these political groups.
And it’s a globalist Uniparty, certainly in the West. Some people get very angry when this is pointed out and they are determined to fight for “their team” even when that team shows a track record of generations of sustained betrayal of the values they thought they espoused. In short order I have utter contempt for the majority of the political class and I am confident that the evidence points to this being a rational conclusion!
Now, some people say this is a gospel of despair but I think Gospel is the central point here. You see we are in a spiritual war and always have been. Once you accept that, once you understand that you owe no allegiance to any earthly power and should place no faith in flawed humans, you can feel liberated. The Bible makes it clear that God is in control, not Rishi or Sir Keir, not Joe or Donald. Our duty is to do our best to remain true to our Christian values and try and not get swept up in political fever. In that way we can gain a real perspective that goes beyond the daily political cycle!
Now that is hard to do, and speaking as someone who comments on a daily basis on politics you might see me as a pretentious hypocrite - however in my defence although I comment I rarely “support” any side beyond that which is right and that which is wrong. Some issues are clearly morally wrong - for example the all-pervasive Trans narrative. So it is right to call this out. The trans issue is now everywhere in popular culture - and I think it cannot help but show it’s demonic essence. Here’s the Irish entry for the Eurovision Song Contest this weekend. It is called Bambi Thug. This isn’t cultural expression, it’s a spiritual challenge. Can you accept this as a representation of your country and cheer it on? If so, I suggest you have a problem. It’s evil manifesting itself through popular culture and our job is to call it out.
The same logic can be applied across the board and that means we should assess what is going on through the spiritual lens. We might get things wrong but I suspect that is the exception to the rule. In this world, we face powers and principalities of great evil but should take comfort from the fact that if we are with Christ then we will prevail.
From that image, I wouldn't be surprised if it won..
