Did you see that drivers on roads with default 20mph limits have cut 4mph from their average speeds, according to the first set of figures from Transport for Wales?
Road sensors measured speed from 3.4 million vehicles across nine locations in Wales over a two-week period at the end of November and start of December. It found the average speed was 24.8mph.
So what?
They cut the speed limit from 30mph to 20mph and claim the new average speed is 24.8mph. You know where this sort of insane totalitarian thinking will lead? Yes 10mph for some roads. Ultimately they want you to stop driving altogether and this is all about making the experience as miserable as possible. Do you notice they never talk about the additional vehicle pollution pushed out at these lower speeds? Do you notice they never provide any evidence that such a reduction in speed ACTUALLY has a life saving benefit? No, they simple want to take all the fun out of being a motorist! The killjoys behind this in Wales have an almost North Korean delight in making life less enjoyable!
A 20 mph speed limit is appropriate for narrow town roads, especially with parked cars either side. That's about it.
I tried to subscribe on Tuesday, however in the process I received an invoice, a refund and a credit note! I guess the problem is that your sign up page doesn't ask for the card holder's name. In my case, mine isn't just my first name and surname.
