I couldn't agree more with this. It makes me sick when I see politicians at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday, laying their wreaths, bowling their heads and looking solemn, whilst they under resource our military and turn against them when it suits. Where is the logic in treating your own so despicably whilst giving the murderous IRA a free pass. WHO benefits from this? I would love to know.

I agree Joan. They are the ones making the decision to put our boys in harms way. Starmer is a hypocrite - as per usual. Our boys go through hell while in service then 'await hell' when they come home. He is an oxygen thief.

Bowing, not bowling. Sod predictive text!

Actually “bowling” their wreaths might be more fun and as about as respectful! For most of the participants, it’s an exercise in “being seen” and has more to do with personal prestige than remembrance.

Sinn Féin / ira, that's who, theyre trying to rewrite history and whitewash themselves as the saviour of the poor downtrodden Catholic people of Northern Ireland who were discriminated against by Unionists and savagely attacked by the British Army in collusion with Protestant paramilitaries, ALL of which is complete and utter nonsense. The single group that murdered the most Catholics during the “Ulster Troubles” was the IRA. Start with that fact before you judge. The Belfast Agreement that ended the conflict, had no knowledge of this. It was a dirty backdoor deal between sinn fein/Ira and the Labour Party especially Jonathan Powell, if it had been in the Agreement it would not have been voted for by the vast majority of Ulster Unionists. FACT.

I served in the Fleet Air Arm, although was never deployed on active service.

And I have no issue with what Trump has had to say.

I have a big issue with the faux outrage deployed to conceal the facts.

David is right - Starmer is a nauseating hypocrite. The son of the toolmaker is quite happy to prosecute our soldiers whilst pardoning terrorists; nay, actually IMPORTING terrorists like al Fattah.

What Starmer's self righteous virtue signalling deliberately obscures is the sickening reality that for thirty years or more, the UK has spent less and less in real terms every year on every aspect of our defence to the point that now, they are hollowed out, have low morale, are issued with ineffective and unserviceable kit and are probably at their lowest ebb for hundreds of years.

But I suppose at least the RAF has vegan friendly uniforms . . .

The point Trump makes is correct - the UK and Western Europe have sheltered under the American umbrella for decades. The UK has not met its spending commitments other than by sleight of hand - for example, including things like pension contributions and MI6 'intelligence' costs as part of the MOD.

The UK is almost certainly unable to meet its NATO commitment in terms of soldiers, guns, tanks etc - reports from 2024 and 2025 have noted an "expanding gap" between the UK's stated commitments to NATO and its capacity to deliver them in the land domain.

There have also been warnings regarding the UK's reliance on the US for critical capabilities like intelligence and logistics.

The USA has done most of the heavy lifting and unsurprisingly, has incurred the higher numbers of deaths and injuries. That is a simple fact.

Were I an American taxpayer, I would be asking why I was incurring costs in blood and treasure that my 'brilliant allies' are unwilling to match.

Thank God that President Trump is shaking up the weaselly woke West and their pathetic politicians.

Great comment and I agree with all of it!

Moreover, all of the sacrifices of blood and treasure in Afghanistan were utterly futile. Savages cannot be civilized in their own country nor when they’re allowed to invade our country.

Starmer is a two faced liar on everything so far.

Am more disappointed in the Veterines who Starmer is targeting are at best coming together re community because of the warmongering, yet they still think they can "discuss with representatives re them understanding what they are doing", who are the same ilk treating them with such contempt.

The mind boggles at the complete disconnect now on show from near everywhere.

We’ll just to be a good sport I would maybe apologize to any squaddies that got their nose out of joint… but I’d make a point of telling Starmer he is a cunt.
