The game is up. You know it, I know it and Rishi Sunak knows it too. At this point, he is acting more of an Undertaker for the Conservatives than an actual leader. His oily managerial style inspires no-one, his lack of vision is there for all to see, and he must know that whenever he calls the General Election at some point this year, he will pull the curtain down on not just his lousy Administration but 13 years of UnConservative rule. He deserves what is coming although we don’t.
It seems to me that this Conservative Party is rudderless and riven with division. There are maybe a few people within it like Suella Braveman, maybe Kemi Badenoch, possibly Liz Truss, who seem to have a vestige of Conservative values but the majority of those sitting on the Conservative benches are cos-playing at being Conservatives when it is all too obvious they are spineless “progressives” indistinguishable from Starmer.
That is why Labour will win - people see little if any difference between them but they KNOW that the Conservatives have betrayed so many promises. The promise of Brexit lies in ruins (deliberately), the economy is in recession (deliberately) and immigration is out of control. The “Red Wall” seats won in 2019 through Brexit promises will collapse, probably entirely! The scale of looming defeat is going to be dramatic and can’t be avoided. It’s been 13 years since Labour were in and many people are unaware of how atrocious they were.
But, and here is the real kicker, what if Sunak and his colleagues actually WANT to be removed from office? They are tired, listless and out of all ideas. For most MPs going from the Government benches to the Opposition benches means the same money but with all but zero responsibility! Those who take Shadow Ministerial roles get media profile for essentially complaining. The blue end of the Uniparty can rest for the next 5 years whilst the red end goes about the destruction of our Country. Sunak will bury his Party later this year - in doing so will he bury the UK?
The ‘opposition’ costs the tax payer slightly more than the ‘in’ party. The whole thing is a shambles.
And a nice little pay rise upon being elected.. We need to en-mass refuse to pay taxes that fund war and genocide, done not by our bidding.
