Let’s start of by making is clear that Hezbollah are a designated terrorist organisation in the UK and publicly endorsing such a group is an actual crime. Hezbollah is specifically proscribed as a terrorist organisation. This means it is illegal to belong to the organization, arrange meetings in its support, or invite support for it. The proscription, initially applied to Hezbollah's External Security Organization in 2001, was extended to the entire organization in 2019. The law is clear.
Now let’s talk about the ludicrous “Irish Rap” band Kneecap.
Hundreds of their supporters gathered outside Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London today to back Liam Og O hAnnaidh (Liam O’Hara) known as Mo Chara, a member of Kneecap, who faces a terrorism charge.
The 27-year-old was accused of displaying a Hezbollah flag during a November 2024 gig at the O2 Forum in Kentish Town, an act alleged to show support for the proscribed organization under the UK’s Terrorism Act 2000. Kneecap, known for provocative Irish-language rap and support for Palestine, arrived wearing “Free Mo Chara” T-shirts, greeted by fans waving Palestinian and Irish flags, holding signs like “Free Mo Chara” and “Stop Arming Israel,” and chanting “Free Palestine.”
The crowd, including international supporters, clashed verbally with a solitary pro-Israel protester, who was removed by police amid chants of “Israel is a terrorist state.” Kneecap described the charge as a “witch hunt,” claiming it was rushed to silence them before Glastonbury.
Here is another member of Kneecap sharing his choice of reading material with the world.
I simply don’t know where people get the idea that this band endorse Hezbollah!
I mean there is just no evidence, right?
I also don’t understand why some people allege that Kneecap think terrorism is ok. As you can see, they mix with some lovely people who at no point ever were involved in terrorism. Definitely not.
BTW, their name “Kneecap” hails from the practise exercised by the IRA terrorists of shooting people they didn’t like in the knees. This was not only extremely painful but crippled them, often for life. It appears the West Belfast band took inspiration from the term.
They were formed in 2017 by Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap, and DJ Próvaí, and have faced prior controversy, including gig cancellations after Coachella 2024 statements accusing Israel of genocide and footage suggesting support for Hamas and Hezbollah, which they denied. Watch the video below and draw your own conclusions on the matter.
Glorifying terrorism is disgusting and publicly breaking UK law should carry punishment. I wonder if Kneecap now stand with Iran?

If it wasn't for their vitriolic hatred for all the usual suspects, and their predictable Irish Republican/Palestinian chip-on -both shoulders victimhood, I'd swear this was a comedy act.
Irish language rap? Come on, that's got to be even worse than the Jamaican bobsleigh team, for daft cultural crossovers.
A bloke with a tricolour tea cosy on his head. Who actually looks like a big soft pudding without it, and to not take away from the two 'hard' lads, he has to remain covered. Laughable. Think the Kray twins knocking about with Bungle bear from Rainbow.
As for their support for terrorism. Well that's their schtick. It brings in the money, which I suggest is more dear to them than any political cause.
All this publicity is a gift to them. He of course won't go down. Only people who criticise immigrants are jailed in this country. And they can always get old uncle (definitely not a terrorist) Gerry to appeal. He can threaten to sue and the British judiciary will be bricking it.
As for Kneecap, or as I prefer to think of them, Arsewipe; there is no doubt a lot of mileage left in their faux outrage.
More fool those who fall for it.
I would encourage Kneecap to do a tour of Iran, followed by Gaza.
Minimum of 20 concerts.
Put their energies where their mouths are.
After the tour, we'll talk.
