The truth about the left is that they do think that political violence is acceptable as long as it benefits their side. They are, when it's all said and done a movement built on weaponised grievances, none of which are legitimate but that doesn't matter. They are wedge issues used to fracture society to the point that a violent communist revolution is the result. Communism can only come about through violence, Karl Marx said so. If we have a civil war in this country it will be because the left have collectively made it come about. Their ideology is unconscious.
I fully concur with David Vance's observations. I would add that, in my humble opinion, for sometime now this country has been edging towards a Communist state. We are drip fed the advantages of i d cards, loyalty cards, card only payments. People think it's wonderful to just 'tap and go' and not mess with 'chip and pin'. Having a few pence deducted from the weekly shop because they have a loyalty card. Sadly, they cannot see that all these measures are enabling those at the top to impose total control over us. They know what we spend, where we spend it. They know what books we read and films we watch. We have no privacy whatsoever. If this is not the precursor to Communist control I would like to know what is.
A visit to the STASI museum in Erfurt was a shocking insight into some of the tactics now used by the British “ state “ - some are indistinguishable … especially the arrests for acts of utter triviality, the propaganda…. Totally scary …
