It didn’t take long to determine if we were really entering into a new age where the Police are honest and forthright with the public in the aftermath of violent incidents. Within two hours of the Liverpool incident last Monday, Merseyside Police had released full details of the alleged culprit, a 53 year old White man. Was this the dawn of a new age of transparency with the public, where we are given ALL the information known to the authorities?
No.
“Three people have been left with serious injuries after a car crashed into pedestrians in Leicester. Police were called to the incident in De Montfort Street in the city centre at 00:34 BST on Saturday, after receiving reports of a fight in the same location. The force said one man sustained minor injuries from the incident, whilst one other man and two women have serious injuries - all four remain in hospital.”
So, some similarities to Liverpool. What did the Police have to say?
A 31-year-old man, from Leicester, has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and causing serious injury by dangerous driving and remains in police custody.
No indication of ethnicity. We can but speculate why this might be.
In Leicester, approximately 59.1% of the population identifies as belonging to an ethnic minority group, with 23.5% Muslim.

So, so far we know with absolute certainty that it wasn’t a white man driving.
If you’re white your ethnicity is published with zeal and enthusiasm even if the proof is suspect!
