I have reached a point where I will speak my mind if the topic arises, as it did last week in the pub. I was out with friends, all of us from Bradford. We have first hand experience of not just Islamism as you put it, but Islam in general. It is not a good experience. The defence is “ but we all know good Muslims” and indeed we do. But you cannot escape the detrimental affect a large Muslim population has had on my home town. Islam is an all encompassing ideology and rather than it becoming less problematic for non Muslims that have to live with it, my experience of sixty years living cheek by jowl with it is that is becoming more prevalent, more aggressive and more radical. You never saw niqabs or hijabs when I was young. After the satanic verses book burnings in 89 it seems they are mandatory. Many schools close on Friday afternoons for mosque now. I won’t bore you with the manifold other problems. In short my response is that I do not hate Muslims, I don’t like the ideology. It is tribal, clannish and toxic. Case in point, as one of the epicentres of the grooming gangs no members of the “community” stepped up to condemn it. Many justified it.

My point is made simple. Not all Germans were Nazis, just enough of them.

Well said, it is happening in Southern Ireland where it's said Galway has fallen - this faster than Bradford so obviously is being ramped up.

Only a deaf, dumb and blind idiot doesn't know it.

But the silence from the "good. Muslims" is acquiescance and renders them equally guilty.

Only around 10% of Germans were Nazis. But they controlled the other 90%.

Similar percent fanatics in Iran.

Debate about Islam is effectively banned

Debate about anything DIE is effectively banned

Debate about lockdowns was banned

Debate about forced vaccinations was banned

We’re living under a tyrannical establishment.

And many people self-censor even when not banned.

Once again, David Vance has highlighted a very worrying trend and makes some very salient points. We are living in frightening times.

Sara's avatar

Deliberately twisted times and continue to pay for the abuse by paying taxes to a corrupt government intent to keep all in danger.

Time to face up to reality.

Well said David, not just free speach but now it's free thinking!

The constant bs we all are being fed re how "peaceful Islam is" has become so obviously a psyop of control which thankfully has only taken over a few - always a recipe for disaster because they shout the loudest.

In my view they are noise that covers the political infection we are going through - so pathetic and so bored of it all.

Since the take over by Fabians from all parties, consummate liars and tricksters, we have come to this. Not just them but with the help of ignorant useful idiots who question nothing and believe anything they are fed.

In my view this is the time of the Great Inversion.

"It wasn’t just what was said inside the chamber, but also what was happening outside it."

Indeed. And the significance of the Muslima's "quite literally cooked" comment is that it was an attempt to import the happenings outside the chamber into the debate itself.

One doesn't know whether this was astonishingly maladroit - akin to a football defender dribbling the ball past their own goalie and slamming it into the net - or a deliberate sinister reminder to us all that debate is as nothing when you control the streets.

But it's significant that the rising influence of Islam in this country is not due to their conduct being enviable, or the beauty of their precepts. It's due to nothing more than immigration and naked intimidation. In the country that produced the Areopagitica, Locke's Treatises on Tolerance, and Mill's On Liberty, they enforce respect rather than earn it.

That a debate titled "Is the West Right to be Suspicious of Islam?" took place at all in the Oxford Union is a major accomplishment. I can see why the "con" side delayed its release. I think whenever you place Islamic scholars and defenders and apologists in a position where they need to defend Islam, you're winning. Since they are defending and explaining that which is indefensible and illogical. And I got the sense, when watching the YouTube, the defenders kind of knew it.

Lawrence Fox's threat of pulling a picture of Muhammad out of an envelope, and the worry in the room that he would actually do it, was fun to watch. More of that sort of thing should be done. Here's my contribution to the "not a picture of Muhammad" contest. https://allenz1.substack.com/p/sharia-compliant-picture

This event confirms my view that the Counter-Jihad-Lite approach of using Free Speech to undermine Radical Islam and promote self-deportation of Islamists in the West is the way to go. If carried out at scale--creatively using art, music, dance, comedy, flyers, billboards and so on--this can deflate not just the Islamists but the overall Red/Green Alliance. Since the Hard Left/Communists will be put in the position of having to defend their Islamist allies. Let them try.

I had been wondering for a long time as to what happened to the intelligence and wit of cultural leaders for not producing timely and effectively revealing pictures of the unsophisticated stupidity parading in the west for decades and have come to conclude that the only member of that group (not sure if I am exaggerating) is the writer of Harry Potter who didn’t read well the memo about “the thought massaging elite” now to be trying to do the opposite of what one should do in order not to be hurt by THEM. So yes, freedom of speech is all the west needs to continue its native upward trajectory, but that’s exactly what THEY have undermined for decades with the help of the “cultural elite”. THEY and THEIR money which buys souls have to be defeated by God directly while simultaneously we live and speak as if free, as you are suggesting, trusting our souls to God whatever THEIR suffocating power may bring our way.

I agree, David. Well reasoned piece. Exactly what we need in spoken debates too.

Universities appear to be very gullible when you look at the lies told by their so-called 'poster boy' diversity fantasist Professor Jason Arday of Cambridge University in the press for the last few days. The comments under articles and posts have been hilarious. Maybe universities need some laughter directed at them too for their absurdities.

No major political party in Britain has been prepared to do anything but appease Muslims. The uniparty are responsible for all of this. Volumes have been written about the adverse consequences Britain faces. I wonder if the uniparty seriously believe the Muslim politicians won’t jettison them as soon as they become surplus to requirements.

Some good points, but a few of my own.

1. Enoch Powell was the Tommy Robinson of his time, same thing happened at universities back then.

2. From then to now ought to reveal the trends that simply make it clearer whats going on. We are all on campus now, those who tell the truth today are the Nujooz!

3. Islam has its denominations, as does the Socialislam mash up we face today

Muslimist....Muhamadanadingongs..

Mokeetoze? Mosketeers?....

Labeling and mocking Commies, Islamix and Communalislam hybrids is key to not fearing them. They are to be mocked and characterized, like they do with we gammons and kuffar!

Hong Kong is full of Arabs?....think Elvis meant Park Lane....bet that's another line hes binned!😀

Both you and I, David know the consequences of this situation because we've lived through it. It's the same situation occurring now as happened in our homeland during the late 60’s and 70’s and we both understand that it's a very dark road.

Sara's avatar

Exactly, the big problem is the rest of UK are clueless - especially the Westminster blob if they think for one second they won't be for it, same for the wokerati - they are the weaklings.

Already in Galway there have been 2 shootings in as many days by GANGS - not the indigenous people and nothing is done!

Is that what the country has to look forward to? Fall in line or be cooked?

It is very telling that you have to write with all seriousness such a basic idea. Thank you for your patience and service. I can’t make myself write that much about such obvious truths anymore. I’m truly grateful for your patience in writing slowly for such a strange time as this in the stupefied west.

"You can question Islam without hating Muslims, just as you can criticise Christianity without hating Christians."

But if you critisise Israel you get accused of anti semitism

No. Criticising any country is fair comment.
