Reform needs Reformed!

I was thinking of applying to be the next Chairman of Reform as I understand there is currently a vacancy following the very sudden and totally unexpected resignation of Zia Yusuf!

We will get into what has brought this about shortly but the bitterness and arrogance coming from Yusuf is quite a thing to behold. Here is his resignation post.

Woah, hold on a minute, Zia. “You” didn't do any of that yourself. Working with others, these fantastic results were achieved and you were part of that success but you appear to think it was just down to you! That’s arrogant nonsense.

So who exactly is Zia Yusuf? Well, from a political point of view I had never heard of him until last summer. However, he was a very wealthy man when he appeared on the political scene last year.

In 2014, he co-founded Velocity Black, a luxury concierge app, serving as CEO. The company grew rapidly, and in 2023, it was sold to Capital One for £233 million, with Yusuf earning an estimated £31 million. He then became involved with Reform UK and was its largest donor during the 2024 general election and served as chairman from July 11, 2024. He had donated £200,000 to Reform just before becoming Chairman and he and Nigel Farage seemed to play a double act, joined at the hip!

No sooner had Yusuf joined the Party than the thoroughly decent and honourable Ben Habib was ousted, a pattern that then repeated itself when Rupert Lowe was also removed. What role did Yusuf play in these unpopular removals? There was plainly some grass-roots annoyance at these moves. Asked last night if he would accept Rupert Lowe back into the Reform camp now Yusuf has gone Nigel Farage said he would sooner “eat razor blades’! So WHY did Yusuf resign so suddenly and with such apparent bitterness?

When the newly elected Reform MP Sarah Pochin asked for the Burqa to be banned, a very popular view amongst Reform rank and file, Yusuf posted this on X.

That *sounds* like he is calling the new Reform MP dumb. Not a good look.

14 hours later, he walked.

He was making it clear that Reform HQ does not support banning the burqa. Nigel Farage seems to hold the same view. So, WHY resign?

It’s all very murky and curious. There is clearly more to this than we have been told.
