Things have most definitely heated up between Israel and Iran and I think that we should all be concerned. The timeline is interesting because whilst Israel struck first, expertly targeting Iranian nuclear capabilities and network, it happened the day AFTER President Trump’s 60 day warning expired. It’s hard not to see the US hand in this even though the administration insists it was not involved. Trump could not be more clear.
Iran seems to have been caught out by the ferocity of the Israeli attack which is still ongoing. Just how degraded the Iranian military is after this attack is uncertain but we saw this disturbing video of Tel Aviv last night. At time of writing attacks are still ongoing.
It MIGHT surprise you, dear reader, to discuss that I stand with Iranians on this one. More specifically, those who live in fear in Iran or who have had to flee that country since the Mullahs captured it in 1979. I know a few of these people and they seem highly intelligent, well educated and desperate for freedom, a freedom the Mullahocracy denies them. Around two thirds of Iranians are of Persian heritage and many of them reject the Tehran regime. Why?
Well, under the thuggish theocratic rule of the Supreme Leader and the Islamic RevolutionaryGuard Corps (IRGC), it systematically suppresses its citizens, particularly women, ethnic minorities, and dissidents. It hangs gay people from cranes. There is no freedom. Instead, the Basij militia and morality police have been involved in mass crackdowns, with thousands of people killed or arrested during protests. The regime’s censorship, including internet shutdowns, restricts free speech, and dissent is met with torture or execution. THIS is what some in the West support in their sublime stupidity! Every time there is an uprising, it is met with brutal force.
Israel has it own reasons to take action against Iran and you will notice the subtle silence of Saudi Arabia as this all unfolds.
I look upon this a chance to defenestrate the Mullahs and allow the people of Iran the chance to choose a better life. Of course I am wary of other agenda in play here (Yes, I have seen Senator Lindsay Graham’s comments) but in the final analysis having radical Islamists get anywhere NEAR nukes is a bad idea. What say you?
