Let’s get a number of things straight from the start.
Firstly, they are *not* grooming gangs but rather mostly Pakistani rape gangs and they have been operating for decades with relative impunity across England.
Secondly, the only reason that UK PM Sir Keir Starmer has now executed a U-turn on the holding of a National Inquiry into these gangs is FEAR that he may lose control of the narrative and that that Reform will further smash him at the polls. He couldn’t care less about the vulnerable white girls trafficked and abused but he does care about the polls.
The prime minister has announced there will be a full national statutory inquiry into grooming gangs. Sir Keir Starmer said he had accepted the recommendations of an audit by Baroness Louise Casey into the data and evidence on the nature and scale of group-based child sexual abuse. Baroness Casey has recommended a national inquiry is required, he said. The inquiry will cover England and Wales. For months, Sir Keir has faced criticism for not being willing to set one up.
Well, that’s an understatement. Starmer and his allies insisted that wanting a fully National inquiry into these rape gangs was “far right' back in January!
As a further bit of background, many of the Labour MPs who were most vocally against holding a National Inquiry also had strong muslim representation in their communities. And therein lies the clue for all of this.
Over the past six months, Baroness Louise Casey has been holding an investigation into what has been going on and her findings will be released for public consumption later this week. It is claimed that this report will make it clear that there is an explicit link to the grooming gang issue to men of Pakistani origin and it will say that white British girls who were targeted were “institutionally ignored for fear of racism”.
Starmer has had the heads up on this report hence the scramble to try and stay ahead of the news.
There is another reason. Former Reform MP Rupert Lowe has already instigated his own Inquiry into these Rape Gangs which can be counted on to be honest one. Reform also jumped on the bandwagon and demanded a National Inquiry. Even the less than useless Conservatives wanted one so Starmer was trapped. He HAD to go against the wishes of several senior MPs and permit one to go ahead.
Can we assume it will be fair? No. Can we assume it will tackle the “Pakistani” problem - No. But the very fact that he has been forced into this is a small victory in the long journey for justice for the girls!

Starmer was talking nonsense in that clip. Finding “the true facts” is the whole purpose of a National Enquiry. He’s as slippery as an eel. As for his jibe against “the Far Right”, we are no longer afraid of being called that now. Far Right now means honest and just. He’ll have got his people in place to cover up for him in this enquiry by now. Lord Hermer, Mahmoud etc. - the usual suspects. Who will be funding him?
That little clip of Starmer saying that those who want an inquiry were jumping on the Far Right bandwagon has more political power per second than almost anything else he has said. Let's make sure everyone sees it!
