I am of the generation that loved the Beeb but it has betrayed us all.

It is indeed good news. People ONLY need a license to watch live broadcast TV and/or BBC iPlayer.

Self fund or pay per view. Or should that be. ‘Pay for Huw’ ?

Let’s hope that £1 billion loss leads to the slashing of the BBC News budget, and to leave it reporting only the news, and not filling its pages with endless opinion pieces and woke propaganda articles. Somehow though I doubt it. Their progressive liberalism is too ingrained. I don’t like to see people losing their jobs, but in the case of BBC journalists, I’m willing to make an exception.

Good . Next stop defunding , breaking up and sale . Back library ( 1940s-2000s ) to be bought by a national library or institution . An independent professional World Service Radio to be established from the proceeds . Current senior management to be blacklisted .

Spot on David , Similar story here on Australia, however that dreadfully biased ABC gets its revenue direct from the public purse, and is supported by a left wing antisemitic govt.
