When Labour swept to victory last summer, Rachel Reeves pledged that she would be an "Iron" chancellor, reining in public spending and improving the lives of working people through growing the economy. It’s hard to say if she actually believed this codswallop but after yesterday, that image is gone forever.
Here she is, in tears, at Prime Minister’s Questions yesterday.\
Why was she crying? I don’t know. Some Labour spin doctors claimed it was “hay-fever”! It wasn’t. Others tried to spin it by saying it was a “personal matter” and she was showing her humanity. I don’t believe that either. Clearly something had happened and others on the Labour front bench knew it. Check out these hellish images of Yvette Cooper and Lisa “who ate all the pies” Nandy
And then there was the Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner…
Sisterly support? I don’t think so!
Rachel Reeves has made a song and a dance about being the first FEMALE Chancellor. She claimed that she broke the glass ceiling and was a model for all women. Well. now we see her sitting blubbing and it is the first time a Chancellor has ever openly cried in Parliament. The money markets spotted this which explains this…
Her tears have REAL impact on the economic fortunes of this country and I feel zero sympathy towards her. SHE was the one who took the Winter Fuel Allowance from our pensioners; she was the one who drove at least ONE of our farmers to kill himself over the Inheritance Tax bombshell, so sorry, I couldn’t care less for her feelings.
Slippery Starmer knew the sh*t had hit the fan after this extraordinary performance so he then came out with a remarkably stupid soundbite…
“Rachel Reeves is doing a fantastic job. She has my full confidence. She has the full confidence of the entire party.”
Have you seen the state of the UK economy? She has been a total disaster as Chancellor but all she is really doing is executing the insane idea of Starmer’s Government! She should go and so should Starmer.
Having now given her his unequivocal support, I will be surprised if she makes it to Christmas. Rachel may have to go back to accounts!
Ha ha - Lisa ate all the pies Nandy - good one!
she can go to hell!
