The Women's Justice Board is unjust!
The Labour Party conference saw the Justice Minister Shabana Mahmood announce the creation of a ‘Women’s Justice Board” with the aim of making sure sure fewer women go to prison and indeed hopefully leading to the closure of Women’s Prisons. Can a transwoman be part of this Board? If not, why not? Can a man seeking a softer sentence identify as a woman? Why are we introducing parallel justice systems in this country?
