There goes the Sun
Is there ANYONE out there who thinks the UK gets too much sunshine? Thought not and that is what makes this story all the more bizarre and sinister!
The UK government is reported to have backed experiments to dim the sun.
Yes, really! You heard me right.
These madcap experiments, funded with £50 million by the Advanced Research and Invention Agency (ARIA), aim to combat global warming through solar geo-engineering—specifically, stratospheric aerosol injection and marine cloud brightening!
Looks like the ‘conspiracy theorists” were right again. Geo-engineering is a thing and has been since at least post WW2.
At the heart of this is the implication that we NEED to change the climate. I don’t believe that we do! In fact I think we need MORE CO2, the gas of life lest we forget.
While the intent of these experiment is to reflect sunlight and temporarily cool the planet, the risks and unknowns associated with these interventions are totally unknown. The notion of manipulating Earth’s climate system, even in "small controlled outdoor experiments," is fraught with potential for unintended consequences that could exacerbate the very crisis it seeks to mitigate. It reeks of arrogance and a total disregard for the environment.
Just consider the ecological and societal risks.
Stratospheric aerosol injections could disrupt global weather patterns, potentially drying the Amazon or altering monsoons critical for agriculture, as suggested by climate models.
Marine Cloud Brightening, inspired by brighter clouds over shipping routes could exacerbate ocean acidification and ozone depletion.
Ethically, solar geo-engineering also raises questions. Who decides which regions bear the risks of altered rainfall or temperature shifts?
At every level, this is Frankenscience of the most worrying sort and the UK is leading the world in it.

Lunacy. Sweden has less sunlight than even we do and they are famous for high suicide rates and depression. It has been scientifically proved that many of those with darker skins who have come to Britain suffer depression because they need more sunlight for their mental health. Is this a social move to drive away darker immigrants or kill us off from despair?🤔
