UK to undergo military clampdown?

In the light of his second emergency broadcast to the Nation amidst the sight of our towns and cities engulfed with protest and violence, it is possible that the UK is being manoeuvred into a situation where Martial Law could be introduced? In fact, might that actually be the Government plan?
