Did you see that the UNRWA has confirmed that the Hamas leader in Lebanon killed in an Israeli airstrike, Fateh Sherif, was… an UNRWA employee?
In the light of this revelation, it’s ironic to read Foreign Office Minister Anneliese Woods lambasting Israel by saying that it obstructing the work of Gaza’s primary aid agency will have “very severe consequences” on the humanitarian situation facing the region!
During an urgent question in the Commons, Ms Dodds faced calls from both sides of the House to sanction Israeli ministers involved in the implementation of two new laws that could see the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) banned from operating on Israeli soil. The laws, which will not come into effect immediately, would effectively bar UNRWA from working in Gaza or the West Bank where access is controlled by Israel.
UK Foreign Secretary low IQ David Lamb also had this to say;
With the rest of the UN Security Council, we expressed grave concern at legislation that will make UNRWA’s operations in the OPTs near impossible. It is totally wrong. Israel must ensure UNRWA can continue its work.
Why should Israel allow UNRWA to operate when it contains active terrorists? It seems to me that Israel is RIGHT to bar UNRWA from Gaza or the West Bank until it fumigates its ranks!
