I wanted to talk to you about the increasing development of academic spaces within our town centres. If you take my local town of Belfast, I see one new student accommodation building after another appearing across the skyline. This begs the question - where are all these students coming from? A cursory examination shows that a significant number of these students are actually oversea students who constitute a lucrative income flow for the universities. In addition to these overseas students, we also have a lot of young local people entering tertiary education to pursue utterly worthless degrees, racking up huge amounts of debt but yet again enriching the coffers of the bloated woke universities.
So I now look upon universities as an existential threat to our societal well-being! They are relentlessly dumbing down our children, teaching all kinds of woke garbage. I used to look upon them as little Marxist production factories turning impressionable young people into pseudo communists but now I look upon them as much worse than that. I think they are part of the destruction of the fabric of our society. They are not centres for learning, they are centres for unlearning. Keep your kids away from them!
Unless you're doing something like engineering, medicine, biomedical science and the like, I agree they're a waste of time and money. I suspect the medical degrees have been dumbed down to multiple choice, however.
