Ban ALL Sharia Courts!
I see that former Reform MP Rupert Lowe has publicly demanded the closure of all Sharia courts in the UK, arguing that they undermine British law and cultural cohesion. I congratulate Rupert on raising this as he is quite right- and not for the first time!
People don’t appreciate that we already have Sharia courts (aka councils), circa 85, in the UK. Whilst they lack full legal authority they do provide “religious guidance” on Islamic family law, and this is what enables cultural isolation and practices like forced marriages.
Parallel systems of justice have no place in the UK. We have THE LAW, not assorted laws. However this is a core problem for any country when Islam arrives.
Not so many years ago, The Guardian itself warned of the dangers that they constitute!
“Almost all the sharia councils, which first appeared in the UK in the 1980s, were founded to facilitate Islamic divorces for Muslim women who need a religious scholar to end their marriage where their husbands don’t consent (they may also offer religious advice on inheritance, wills or issue religious rulings). They are not the only religious councils – there are also the Jewish Orthodox Beth Din, and Catholic tribunals. The sharia councils are often accused of operating a “parallel legal system” in the UK, but their rulings have no legal standing here or abroad, and they have no enforcement powers. As unofficial bodies, they also have no jurisdiction over custody or financial issues. What they rely on is the weight that religious rulings carry in the Muslim community.
And that is precisely the problem because Sharia councils conflict with British values, fuelling sectarianism, division and integration. Banning every one of them would be a positive act but one our political class lack the guts to implement.
Like Halal slaugher, Sharia Councils are incompatible with British values.
If we allow both to prevail, we endanger our future.

Sharia Law has no place in America or anywhere else for that matter. It is imperative that it be banned at the Federal, state and local levels. Period.
It's been going on for decades along with polygamy, under-age marriage, FGM etc.. while the authorities turn a blind eye for fear of being accused of racism, they're a law unto themselves with no intention to integrate but to dominate, 20 more years of this and we will be an Islamic state.
