Santander put me through this in 2021. Quickly opened accounts with two other banks but keep very little in any.

After the financial crisis the dumb government bailed out the banks instead of the customers. When bailouts happened the banks became effectively owned by government.

The main reason why they don’t want us using cash is because we might be avoiding excessive taxation.

Once you pass the cash over the counter and it goes on the ledger, it's no longer yours. For all the interest you get, it's hardly worth putting in. Just enough to pay the bills. Physical metal is the best store for the rest, just now.

I'm hearing banking reset in the pipeline.

David my bank blocked me twice from buying a television using my card. Not only that my money was taken out and put into pending for a month. I ended up going to the bank having made an appointment to withdraw a large sum of cash. They wanted to know what I was going to use the money for. I paid for the television with cash.
