Spot on David.Just yesterday I was trying to explain exactly this point to a friend who likewise was complaining about the state of our roads, so many being closed because of a puddle or a large planter being conveniently placed to stop traffic. 20mph limits popping up everywhere, phasing out of petrol and diesel in favour of unaffordable and useless electric cars which we will be forced to buy together with water absorbing Ethanol in the E10 fuel , designed to wreck all of our older petrol engine cars, motorcycles and even lawnmowers. It’s all part of an agenda to control us keep us in our 15 minute cities. People are just accepting this but complaining about the potholes!😡
I also hit a pothole at the weekend. Luckily, it wasn't overly big. It was however, like many I have seen, on the route into a large town or on the main streets of towns or villages. Even city centres. There seems to be endless roadworks ongoing, to install gas or water mains or fibre broadband or drainage. The roads are only ever patched up. Never resurfaced to a good standard. A possible topic for a future podcast or Substack article might be on where we stand by not paying the ever rising rates bills.
Over £2 trillion of national debt run up and NOTHING has improved. The only thing that has happened is the wealth of the elites has increased.
