Your analysis is spot on. Some who had worked with Johnson over the years warned about his lazy self-indulgence and empty self-promotion but, although consistent with my recollections of him from Balliol, I tended to dismiss the warnings because they mainly came from his natural political enemies - Remainers, etc.

But it may not have been simple selfishness and pusillanimity on Johnson's part. I am increasingly of the view that no individual is allowed to attain high office unless the system has adequate leverage (kompromat, etc.) to control them. That is mainly why the system turned on Trump - he already had too much wealth to be susceptible to bribery and there were not enough skeletons in his closet.

Jennifer Acuri said she thought he’d been compromised after he allegedly caught Covid.

Meaning that he was blackmailed into faking it (presumably requiring the complicity of various NHS staff)?

I have no idea but that wouldn’t surprise me. Maybe he just accepted his instructions because he was guaranteed a succession of sinecures once he left office.

OMG, the Conservative party are totally deluded! "He could be a weapon against them in places like the Red Wall" - no, he couldn't! They are not going to be fooled again. Absolute cheese for brains, out of touch retards.

I can't believe we're having this conversation. My disconnection from this ridiculous reality is nearing 100%.

4) he was one of the most radical liberal, pro mass immigration PM’s Britain has ever been unfortunate enough to elect.

Didn’t Jennifer Acuri say that when returned — after he disappeared having allegedly catching Covid — he was a different person to the point she thought he’d been compromised.

Good way to bury Cons- he caused the downward trend which led to Truss and Sunak. Will hand even more converts to Reform.

All of the above, but the biggest issue is the Boriswave. His incompetence, malevolence, or control by a global elite are as bad as it gets when it comes to enforced immigration. He hasn't even got the excuse that the imported 3rd World masses would ever vote Tory.

No! He’s a useless oaf who couldn’t run a booze up in a brewery. He had his turn with a massive majority and could have done so much good. Instead he blew it while opening the doors even wider to a wave of gimmigrants and their families. The increased numbers he let in are staggering!

Bojo needs to keep his head down and bugger off!

I honestly think that Boris is a spent force in British politics. He delivered a lukewarm Brexit without follow through. He gave us a new surge in mass immigration. He was a disaster over the scamdemic. I voted for him but wouldn't again and that goes double for the Tories. Labour I despise and Reform whilst being the best game in town will likely let us down. Meanwhile are freedoms are daily eroded, out taxes are spent on the undeserving and the rank stupidity of "net zero" which seems to mean we will be left with zero money and energy.

Agree entirely on the three points of Boris’s failures. I was particularly cross about the Net Zero meeting in Carbis Bay. Did we vote for THAT? He also needed Nigel Farage to help negotiate with the EU. Tory Remainers still anger the public like nothing else. I liked Boris but really he’s finished. Had his chance. Muffed it.
