There are press rumours that a secret mission to bring back Boris Johnson to replace Kemi Badenoch as Conservative leader has been launched by senior party insiders. It is claimed that a group of former Conservative MPs are now in talks to convince the ex-PM to make a bombshell return to frontline politics.
“Team Boris are talking again. There are even some people in Tory HQ who are moonlighting on Project Boris.” Asked about Kemi’s leadership, one gloomy Tory MP said: “We keep sharpening our knives and putting them back down again. Things are pretty grim.” Another said: “Boris is the only thing Reform would fear. He could be a weapon against them in places like the Red Wall.” Terrified Tory MPs fear their party is on the brink of extinction and will be replaced by Reform UK as a new party of the right.
This comes on the heels of the news that the most recent Opinion Polls show the Conservatives in FOURTH PLACE.
Based on this, the Conservatives would win around 64 seats in 2029.
In December 2019, under the leadership of Boris Johnson, they won 365 seats and a whopping majority.
So you can at least understand their nostalgia for those heady times but the truth is that wishful thinking is all this will ever be.
***Boris Johnson is a self busted flush***
By July 2022, just a mere two years after his historic victory, he resigned from Office in shame. His cabinet had rebelled against him, the air was thick with political intrigue and when the newly installed Chancellor Nahim Zahawi urged Johnson to resign, he was doomed. He stood down as an MP the following May in 2023.
My gripes with Johnson are manifold;
I resent the fact that he locked us down and took away our freedom in March 2020. I think he knew that Covid was a gargantuan fraud but he played along with it but ended up being caught out breaking HIS rules concerning isolation and not meeting in groups because he KNEW it was harmless to do so.
He betrayed us over Brexit. He did NOT get Brexit done, he sold out Northern Ireland by keeping us IN the EU Single Market and subject to the ECJ, and he even accepted a border up the Irish Sea to appease the EU and Irish. Weak.
He went full in on the Ukraine scam and kept the killing going.
Boris Johnson was in the right place at the right time to succeed Theresa May. However I think that once he got the top job, he proved he lacked all vision for the UK. Neo-Churchillian sound bites do not make effective policy.
Those who think Boris may be the solution don’t understand the problem.

Your analysis is spot on. Some who had worked with Johnson over the years warned about his lazy self-indulgence and empty self-promotion but, although consistent with my recollections of him from Balliol, I tended to dismiss the warnings because they mainly came from his natural political enemies - Remainers, etc.
But it may not have been simple selfishness and pusillanimity on Johnson's part. I am increasingly of the view that no individual is allowed to attain high office unless the system has adequate leverage (kompromat, etc.) to control them. That is mainly why the system turned on Trump - he already had too much wealth to be susceptible to bribery and there were not enough skeletons in his closet.
OMG, the Conservative party are totally deluded! "He could be a weapon against them in places like the Red Wall" - no, he couldn't! They are not going to be fooled again. Absolute cheese for brains, out of touch retards.
