I do get nostalgic for what was once London and other regions of the UK. I watch occasional tube videos to enjoy the atmosphere of the younger times I grew up in or those of our parents. Yes, it's easy to don the rose tinted glasses. Times weren't all fun and picnics. But I loved the long Summer holidays, mucking about on the inner tubes of big trucks, inflated to the max, floating down the local river. Long walks round country roads near our town. Having little to eat at times, save for the heel of a loaf spread with brown sauce.
We were lucky in that the 'Troubles' in the province didn't reach as far as us. No paintings on gable ends. The police acted like the constables you only dream of now. Hardly any cars on the roads either. And Sundays were quiet and reflectively peaceful.
Its to late to save
