I think the band, Metallica, has been used for many years to push agendas. The video for their song, One, has a movie called Johnny got his gun sprinkled through it.

One scene has a boy asking his father, what IS democracy?..

The father states that, "For democracy, any man would give his only begotten son"..

Majority rule can be manipulated too easily, for the gain of a minority.

Perhaps we never had real democracy but of late it is quite clear that the way our government has behaved is more reminiscent of the old Communist Soviet era. My wife escaped the horrors of communism in Georgia and cannot quite believe that she now sees exactly the same horrors emerging here. Propaganda everywhere except of course on Davids broadcasts!

The problem with this is that you don't offer an alternative. What would your solution be as an alternative to democracy?

It’s not my job to offer an alternative

It might not be your job, but if democracy isn't your preferred method of government what would you prefer to replace it with?

I don't want to be "governed"

You're still dancing around the issue without saying anything substantive. What do you want to replace democracy with? It's a simple question.

I don’t. It’s a simple answer.

So you "fell out of love with democracy" and wrote a few paragraphs about why you think it is "messed up" and a "fake choice", but you don't have an alternative? Just glib and meaningless replies which seem to be aimed at deflecting scrutiny of your position? That looks really weak.

When the public are restricted to two a two party system with neither party offering solutions to immigration and both parties subservient to big businesses, the WHO, EU, UN etc, Democracy offers no solutions whatsoever.

It's my belief that the only truly democracy is democracy at the local level. If true, then we have our governments completely upside down and backwards. Local government should be at the top of the hierarchy. That is, a decision made by the local government should NOT be able to be overruled by the State government (in the US) or the Federal government. Instead, we have it ass backwards: The States can tell the locals what to do or not do, and the Fed's can tell the States and the locals what to do or not do. How is it democracy when your local government and a majority of the people in your city or county vote overwhelmingly to not do something (open a new mine, for example), but Federal bureaucrats at the capital of the empire 2500 miles distant override your local decision and tell you you must do it (open the mine). That's not democracy, that's tyranny!

Couldn’t agree more and I’ve been reflecting on this a huge deal lately. Glad I’m not alone. Democracy is sinister. That trip to a castle and discovering its history has only made me more conscious of how much we have ceded to politicians. Democracy is a sham. It is not the least worst system of governance . It’s THE worst system. We don’t need any centralised power system at all. We’d be better off without it. Even its primary job which is national defence is a lie. Open borders demonstrate this. I wish everyone would wake up and we could overthrow this monstrosity. I’d almost be inclined to go back to pre industrial days. In fact i BLAME industrialisation for inflicting more government on us and the poison of politics.

Yes. Democracy is rotten to the core. I’ve come to see this. You are not alone.
