Those in Greece the other year were caused by arsonists and I'm sure those in France this year were as well. Re-wilding and other modern countryside policies have just made things worse. I don't remember all these wildfires in 1976.
Plus David you would know of this, in Newcastle Co Down there have been a few fires over the years. When we lived out that direction a Fireman who also was a taxi driver told us several fires are started by certain ilk of farmers burning the Gorse but not doing their due diligence.
That is hardly caring for nature considering the wildlife etc.
Our country was not then overun with migrants who do not respect or follow our customs. Where I live the night is punctuated by firework noises all summer long, and fairly regularly throughout the winter months as well. Better than rifles I suppose.
Exactly and 100% agree David. If any of them had brains they'd be dangerous.
My question is are they bought and payed for by the same paracites destroying this planet of OURS - NOT THEIRS? Because exactly the same thing happens around the world - add the interference with farmers who always tended to the land.
Far too many pathetic useful idiots is a huge problem also me thinks.
As always David has told it as it is. As a child I have had my long plaits coated in melted tar as I've bent over to pick something up. My father would recall frying eggs on the pavement in his childhood. Using climate change as a lame excuse for the cause of these fires needs to stop. Once again, we are being taken for idiots. These morons who are starting these fires need a short, sharp shock.
But if some of those come from places where people just do things, like light fires/defecate/spit wherever they want and wherever they are, then we can't touch them.
Strangely, Zara Raisinbrain almost has it - invest in fire and rescue services, build resilience in all forms including civil defence. However, to do that we need... oil.
Just to follow up on my comment - does anyone seriously think that the Stourbridge fires would have been dealt with as effectively if the fire engines were battery-powered? The ones from further way would have needed recharging by the time they got there!
Yep - even my 14-year old nephew responded by using the warning text as his new avatar with the note 'Help, I'm on fire!' ..... as Camilla Long rightly said in today's Sunday Times, at least we all found out how to switch off notifications.
There is no such thing as coincidence. Reality says if 3rd world mentality who have no respect for anything are invading it is a serious recipe for disaster on many levels.
Having experienced a storm in California that turned from a State emergency to a Federal Disaster within hours, I so agree with this article.
I remember the levees all breaking down, bridges collapsing, 5miles of freeway swept away. The Feather River broke, The Red River broke and they were just waiting for the Yellow River to go when we had to ford a road below a bridge on it with logs piled high against it, about to bust. We had kids in the car and nowhere else to go that night, the police lifted the barriers and waved us through. This is the American Police. They take risks, they do sensible things.
In the morning the devastation on the TV helicopter film showed families sitting shivering on their rooftops, flood waters up to the eaves. Horses from the fields swimming together in large groups to find a patch of dry land. Water as far as the eye could see. Sacramento was reduced to an island like Mont St Michel, surrounded by a sea. We have no idea what this type of thing is like.
We need to be less experimental and treat this land and climate like our forefathers. Digging out the ditches, dredging the rivers and making sure we don’t build on flood plains. Drainage of the land also requires everyone who tarmacs/tiles over their front garden to leave a foot of soil clear on each side for drainage. Why it hasn’t been required before I can’t understand. We usually have enough rain to be wise about such things!

Exactly, was thinking the same thing.

Am replying to my comment to add this as not enough people are awake to what is being deliberately done to our country.
The Bowler Hat Farmer is on top of the skulduggery and we all need to take a stand.

They would probably self-combust in the heat like e-bikes do!
I can't think of anything much more useless than an e-fire engine (or hydrogen powered) for that reason alone!
I did 30 years in the fire service there is no such thing as wild fires in the uk there all deliberate ignition

Funny how we get more fires when more illegal invaders arrive

Once again…the Uk, having rid itself of YOUR Biden in Starmer has, by appointment, moved on to YOUR Kamala Harris in Burnham!
Excellent essay! Spot on!! 👌👍🙌
In Sri Lanka, up North when the temperature climbs the tar on the road would melt ! But we have never seen any fires 🔥

Just maybe theyre not caused by moron arsonists but by evil arsonists DEWS???
What an appalling thing to say! All this Jew hatred sickens me!
