A recent YouGov poll commissioned by The Sun (Red Flag!) reveals that Nigel Farage’s Reform UK could significantly challenge Labour’s hold on the Red Wall in a hypothetical general election, with 68% of voters believing Britain is "broken."
I have long been of the opinion that any "opposition" which becomes a significant threat to the status quo will be either controlled in one way or another or, failing that, simply crushed out of existence. "Democracy" is just another form of bread and circuses by which states manage the populations over which they presume the right to exercise authority. But it is foolish to imagine that the Thomas Cromwells and Francis Walsinghams do not continue to exist in our world.
Cynical? Definitely. Paranoid? Possibly. But that does not mean they are not out to get us.
