Immoral leadership and ways have invited into our lives all the problems we see today. We, who can set things straight , are many.

It is easy to detect pornography, it was easy 25-30 years ago when I was a systems programmer.

Even if they don’t have the ability to detect every single type, they do have the ability to drive it ALL underground into the dark web.

That is all that needs to happen but they don’t want to do that because it would encourage young people to have proper real relationships and start families, heaven forbid!!

I’m sure it’s just a coincidence but whilst page 3 and Nuts magazine has been banned (wow what a success) everything that promotes degeneracy is free or cheap and readily available: porn is free, drugs partially decriminalised and available everywhere, and super strength alcohol is still dirt cheap despite the cost of living crisis.

Rigorous age verification to access online porn would be a good start.

Thank you for your Editorial asking the question Do We Need a Minister of Porn. Yes. We do. Although I wouldn’t call it that. Im also a social liberal with limits. Creating profit by monetizing doing harm to others is an important boundary that is crossed in so many ways in our modern society. Much of the impetus driving harmful, even toxic, consumption is boredom. This is becoming more the case with every passing day as the work from home (hardly working) culture proliferates and takes hold. Humans are doing less work - both physical and mental - than ever before. Something has to fill the gap- and that “something” is addiction. Addiction distorts perception. And those who monetize addiction are encouraged to build their empires on this human weakness. Both the addicted and the un-addicted suffer hugely; families, communities, faith, children, animals are all on the front line of the steal of their right to live moral and dignified lives. The disciplined, moral and dignified simply cannot rub shoulders with the addicts. There’s the rub. Use of porn is an addiction. Running along side it is the Casino, prostitution, rape, molestation, alcoholism drug use, violence, and crime. All of this “sin”, for lack of a better word, will always be with us. But empowering individual wisdom and then choices is the way forward IMHO. That is principally: knowing how to live a life of congruence by knowing your personal values, standards and beliefs. The Tao addresses the method: “ Do what is difficult while it is easy. Do what is great while it is small.”

The reward is the honed ability to spot incongruence and quietly move away from it. Find the right people and build momentum in that direction. The Minister Responsible for Pubic Safety might consider initiatives and incentives to redirect bored human minds to other more productive pastimes and show them the rewards of living a life that supports success. And healthy behaviours and community- building efforts simply must be funded and / or supported by tax breaks for individuals and families who self improve in sport, the arts, continuing education and so on. Amen.

A cheap or even free VPN circumvents all this BS.

Kids have them, I know because I have a teenage grandson and teenage nephews, and they are into tech and know all about VPNs etc

When I was 13 way back in the early 80s, a copy of The Sun or The Star was the jackpot, I can only dream about the upgrades teenage boys have these days !!
