I had what I suppose was flu twice, when I was 18, and then early 30s with a six month old baby to look after. Both of us had it. It was horrible, aching, headache, sore throat, nausea. The hospital would be the worst place to have been, uncomfortable beds, no sleep, constant unterruptions. I don't get it.

Was watching Sly News the other day unfortunately and they were telling us to beware of the Quad-demic.

Are you really this stupid? Has it really not occurred to you that most of the people hospitalised for flu are vulnerable in other ways? For instance, because they are elderly and have conditions such as heart failure, COPD, clotting disorders and poor immune function, all of which are common in old age. Babies and small children with flu also get really sick really quickly and can need intravenous fluids and respiratory support which cannot be administered outside a hospital. OBVIOUSLY, for most people with flu, hospital is not the best environment. There's no great mystery to this, it's basic medicine. It's like you're desperate to invent a conspiracy where none exists. By the way, it takes a fortnight after vaccination to generate sufficient antibodies to protect against infection, so deciding never to take it again after your experience is both idiotic and selfish.

What a pathetic response. You asked why people with flu need hospital, I told you the answer. Your post contains more inaccuracies than facts, but I suspect you don't care in the slightest, judging by your childish reaction to my comment.
