Usually I agree with what you say? But chlorinated chicken? No way. Toxic, causes asthma etc. do not touch with a barge pole

Yes, but I guess they snuck that under the radar 🙄I mean if one could be able to make a choice between chlorine chicken or not that would help! All I know is that I had to give up baths living in the west of England because the chlorine in the water gave me asthma attacks from the vapour. Not great.

The advice for cooking our non chlorinated chicken is to avoid washing or rinsing under a tap as this will merely spread the likely salmonella germs present in the meat! Make sure it’s thoroughly cooked and avoid handling the chicken so as not to spread germs! Sounds like a chicken given a mild chlorine wash to eliminate this problem is a much better solution.🤔.

Not in my opinion John, I’ve been cooking chicken for years and never had salmonella. No mild chlorine is not needed.

Oh dear , but you’ve obviously been following the guidelines and well done to you but are you happy not even being able to wash your chicken for fear of spreading the likely Salmonella and then cooking it thoroughly instead of like beef or lamb having it rare? Just stop and think about that?

Research chlorine dioxide. It's effective as a water purifier, the safest available, and for other health benefits. 🙏🏻

As if the government gives two hoots about our health! That won't be a factor in why they've banned it.

They're quite happy for unlabelled halal slaughtered meat to be sold though.

I think its the word, chlorine, that sounds scary. Thinking chlorine gas. But chlorine dioxide is very safe for human consumption, in the correct proportions, and is very different from chlorine..

David. I love your work but in case you haven’t noticed we live in gods country for food (Northern Ireland) why would we accept imported foods that take money out of our own peoples pockets.

I fully get your point and I MUCH prefer local produce! However, I am not mandating anyone to eat US imports, I think ppl should have choice. 10% US tariffs will damage us here in NI and the way to escape this is to seek zero tariffs! Having said that, we should also be supporting our farmers much more, in the final analysis, I think they produce the food I WANT to eat!

Accepting chlorinated chicken makes a lot of sense, as long as it's ckearly labelled. We maunder on about customer choice, so why not offer it?
