I can remember a time when Sunday was unlike any other day of the week. In my childhood back in the 1960’s, Sunday was a very quiet day. A day of tranquility. Or boredom. It started with Sunday school in my little village Church and then the main act of Worship. Shops were closed so there was nowhere to go in that regard and petrol stations weren’t the thing that they are these days. So you had to entertain yourself. But how, I mean there wasn't even the Internet and mobile phones had yet to be invented! Simple, we would go for afternoon walks in the countryside if the weather was clement and if wasn’t then we would just sit around and talk as a family! Sound terrible, right?
As a child, I remember the rhythm of life changed on Sundays. The heartbeat of our family slowed, and we caught our breath. Now, every day beats at the same fast, furious pace with stress and anxiety, a diagnosis for all ills. Maybe a day a week with a beat change would be a breath of fresh air for us all.
I remember Sunday’s when i was young we had to be in our best clothes had to go to sunday school twice we always had Sunday dinner and a pudding after it was boring

When I was a kid (1970s) it used to be a big family day, revolving around a huge Sunday lunch.
Then we were allowed out to play if we ate all our dinner and behaved!!
It feels like that was a different world to the one of today!
