When you consider the number of vegans and vegetarians in Britain, this is a surprising response from our Parliament. Where's the RSPCA? Why do we subscribe to them to do nothing about this barbarism? Rupert Lowe is, yet again, a hero of our times. Every animal lover should be appalled and inflamed by the government's negligence. (Note the distain and disinterest on the faces of those who are "blocking" in the picture behind Lowe.)
25 years ago in NZ, we had a high profile case of an Algerian Muslim "refugee" who flushed his passport in the airplane toilet. He was an Islamic scholar, and became a cause celebre amongst the media and left. One of his "human rights" lawyers was a young white woman, fighting for his rights, and the injustice of the government not immediately granting him asylum.
After some time, I wrote a letter to the editor of NZs largest newspaper, pointing out the obvious, but unmentionable facts: (1) shame none of the 55 plus other Muslim majority countries were available for an Islamic schlolar refugee to flee to, (2) the irony that the young western woman lawyer's rights to represent him are contradicted by her clients very own Islamic scholar beliefs on gender roles in a society.
The paper actually published my letter, which nowadays would not happen.
But I have been banging on since being in London 1989, during the Salmon Rushdie Satanic Verses Fatwa protests in that once great city. But my experience is that the average Joe will not do anything, and apparently, will accept their unpleasant fate.
The goat herder’s are “screwing” the goats before selling them at auction for people to eat the meat for their “Eid” festival !!
There was a video of a goat herder on X, actually doing it and he says at least the goats will have some pleasure before they get slaughtered for the meat !!
